# What “Watch Percentage” Means

This article explains what **“watch percentage”** means in the Video Lesson Activity, how it is calculated, and how it affects activity completion.

### What is watch percentage?

**Watch percentage** represents how much of a video a learner has actually watched, expressed as a percentage of the total video duration.

For example:

- A 10-minute video
- Required watch percentage: **85%**
- Learner must watch at least **8.5 minutes** of the video for completion

This value is used to determine whether a Video Lesson activity can be marked as **complete**.

### Can learners watch in multiple sessions?

Yes.

Watch percentage is **cumulative**:

- Learners can watch part of the video
- Leave the activity
- Return later and continue watching

Progress is remembered until the required percentage is reached.

### What happens when the required percentage is reached?
